Who’s a fan of making soup during the colder months? Really? Me, too! There are several reasons I love to make soup…
- one pot cooking! yay!
- the leftovers – soup is always good the following day and it’s light enough for lunch.
- usually pretty healthy! A bunch of veggies and protein…can’t go wrong with that.
- the comfort. It just feels right to eat warm soup, in stretchy pants and a sweat shirt, am I right?
So let’s get to it. Here is a list of my favorite soups on the blog!
1.) Chicken Chili – this recipe is hands down a family favorite. My kids love it. It can be cooked on the stove or in the crock pot. I use a rotisserie chicken to make it even easier.
2.) Lentil Soup – My husband’s grandma made this recipe up. It’s FANTASTIC. It uses a leftover ham bone which flavors the entire soup. It’s one of the most simple yet most flavorful soups on my blog. I highly recommend making after Thanksgiving.
3.) Lasagna Soup – this is a fun one! A little easier than making traditional lasagna yet still so delicious and comforting. Who doesn’t love a spoonful of ricotta right on top?
4.) Italian Sausage Soup – another family favorite I’ve been making for years. My kids also love this. It’s filling, comforting and tastes amazing.
5.) Chicken Pot Pie Soup – I love this one! It’s healthy, beautiful and taste just like a chicken pot pie. I use a rotisserie chicken for this one as well. Super simple!
6.) Butternut Squash Soup – Can’t go wrong with this recipe. It’s classic…definitely has to be made at least once a year, right? It’s light, delicious and oh so beautiful.
7.) White Bean Chicken Chili – This one is a bit unusual and so delicious! Fennel seed and Swiss chard are used making it a little more fancy, yet absolutely delicious. Highly reccomend!
8.) Simple Tomato Soup – Yep! We love tomato soup. I serve with grilled cheese, of course.
9.) Sweet Potato Soup – This one is thick, creamy and salty. I love the crumbled sausage that goes on top!
10.) Slow Cooker Chicken Noodle Soup – sometimes we need a simple and very healthy option, right? I love this recipe for chicken noodle soup. Nothing fancy here, just a classic, healthy recipe!
11.) Healthy Vegetable Soup with Ground Turkey – everything goes into this and it’s SO good and good for YOU!
