Football Season has started which means it’s time to eat some cheese.
Before I get started I have to share a few more amazing appetizer dips with you just in case you want to make several for the big game! I suggest trying my Jalapeño Popper Dip, Buffalo Chicken Dip, or Sweet Onion Bacon Dip! Ok, not let’s chat more about this wonderful cheesy black bean dip!
This might be the easiest cheesy dip appetizer that you will ever make and perhaps one of the best. My mother-in-law makes this for every family gathering we have which happens pretty often. Even though my family has enjoyed this Cheesy Black Bean Salsa Dip many, many times, we all still look forward to stuffing our faces with it. I kid you not when I say we devour it every.single.time.
I love this picture – stringy melted cheese and sparkly nails.
Cheese Please!
When I say this is the easiest dip ever, I am not even kidding. Not in the slightest. It involves layering cream cheese, some black bean salsa and cheese, then baking in the oven, and finally enjoying eating with chips. Preferably Donkey Chips. Have you had those? They are Vin’s FAVORITE. Super crunchy and perfect for cheesy dips.
If you don’t like black beans and prefer a regular salsa, go right ahead and use that!
Well alright, it’s time to dig in!

Cheesy Black Bean Salsa Dip
Cheesy Black Bean Salsa Dip is the easiest appetizer dip you can make and the most delicious. Cream cheese is covered with salsa then topped with cheeses and baked until melty and warm. Serve with tortilla chips!
Ingredients
- 8 ounce package cream cheese, room temp (makes it easier to spread)
- 1 jar favorite salsa. I like black bean salsa
- 1 bag shredded Mexican or Colby jack cheese
- tortilla chips for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spread cream cheese on the bottom of a 9x9 or 8x8 pan. Cover with salsa and then top with cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes until melted and bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips.
Notes
Make ahead and keep in the refrigerator. Simply bake before serving! Recipe can be doubled using a 9x13 inch pan.
Sarah
can you put this in a crock pot?
Jessica Erin
I don’t see why not!
Colleen
Thank you for a good recipe. I made it for a birthday party appetizer and added 2 shredded cooked chicken breaths and the whole can of beans. Everyone really enjoyed it.
Jessica Erin
yum! glad you liked it!
ashlyn
do you need to cook the beans on the stove?
Jessica Erin
Nope! Just layer all the ingredients and bake. The black beans in a can are already softened. You could Ali buy black bean salsa which would make it even easier. Enjoy!
