Total time
Serves: 2-3
  • ¾ pound ground turkey meat
  • ¼ cup diced white onion
  • ¼ cup dived red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic (1 garlic clove)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Wheat buns (or whatever you prefer)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • Thousand Island Dressing
  1. In a small sauté pan, add a splash of olive oil and place over medium heat. Add onions and red peppers and cook until slightly soft, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. In a bowl gently mix ground turkey, onions, red peppers, garlic, salt, and pepper, Form mixture into three patties.
  3. In a large skillet add a few tablespoons olive oil and place over medium heat. Add the turkey patties and cook on each side for about 4 minutes or until lightly golden brown. If burgers start to burn too quickly, turn down heat. It's important that they are cooked all the way through so make sure you watch the heat so they cook evenly. Once they're done, add a slice of provolone cheese and add a splash of water to the pan and cover with lid or tin foil until the cheese melts. The water will help create steam so the cheese melts quickly and will become gooey.
  4. Remove burgers from pan and assemble with topping ingredients and enjoy.
