Sloppy Joe's Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 1 small green pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic (2 garlic cloves)
  • 1 cups ketchup
  • 1 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 3 dashes tobasco sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for skillet
Nacho Ingredients
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 jalapeño, seeds removed (unless you like the heat) sliced
  • Tortilla chips
  • Bread and butter pickles
  • ½ cup sour cream (add a few dashes of tabasco for spice)
  • Romaine lettuce, chopped
  1. To make the sloppy joe's, add olive oil to a large skillet or dutch oven and place over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown, about 10 minutes. Drain fat.
  2. Add onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook for an additional 4 minutes.
  3. Next add ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, tobasco sauce, black pepper and stir.
  4. Turn heat down to low. Add water and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Assemble nachos by adding cheese on top of tortilla chips and melt in oven or in the microwave. Top nachos with the rest of the ingredients and enjoy!
