I love zee slow cooker.
I am using it a lot more lately…cooler weather might be the culprit, but I also like the ease of it. Who doesn’t though? When Hamilton Beach® asked if I would like to try out their new Hamilton Beach® Professional Sous Vide and 6QT. Slow Cooker I said “HECK YEAH, I love slow cookers.”
So we are really into Taco Tuesday – I know I know…I need to share some more taco recipes, but I’ve been making recipes from other bloggers because they’re so good! Like Gimme Some Oven’s Easy Mango Shrimp Tacos – these are seriously to die for, easily one of our favorites.
However, the past few weeks I’ve been making pulled chicken for Taco Tuesday to switch it up a bit. I used Hamilton Beach’s® new sous vide/slow cooker and I must say, it was just fine! I’m not raving about it, but I’m not mad at it either. It got the job done and it was easy to clean and easy to set. What’s unique about it is that it’s also a Sous Vide cooker which I did not try because I’m not much of a sous vide cooker.
But, if YOU are, it only makes sense to purchase the two for one deal, ya know? For those that don’t know what sous vide cooking is, it’s a method of cooking in which food is sealed in an airtight bag and then cooked in a water bath at a specific temperature for a long period of time. Do you watched Chopped? Ever seen the chef’s seal a piece of meat or fish with herbs and then put it in a water bath? Almost the same, except they’re hoping it get’s done in the 30 minute time period…I’m assuming they’re increasing the temperature. Anyway, I love this idea, I’m just not quite there yet in “cooking life,” but my slow cook is totally hitting the spot.
Also, I’m totally loving that the slow cooker is rectangular because all slow cookers are usually round or oval…I like having both options just in case the cut of meat I purchase fits better into one or the other. Ya feel me? Oh! And it’s suuuuper light, so easy to carry around, not like your Grandma’s slow cooker that weighs 8,000 pounds and has floral decor on it. My mom still has one. Love you mom!
Don’t worry, I am sharing the recipe for this amazing Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken. I use it for tacos, but it could be put into a salad, quesadilla, burrito, enchiladas, nachos, stuffed peppers, or just eat it with a fork. It’s super flavorful because of all the seasoning that’s in it and of course, it’s tender and juicy.
Ew. I just can’t with those words.
Go get your slow cook on or sous vide on!
