I can’t think of anything better to talk about today other than my cute as heck puppy, Izzy.
Hilarious. I know.
If you don’t know already, Vin and I got a puppy back in October – best decision of my life. I am completely and totally in love with her. As Tom Cruise says in Jerry Maguire, “she completes me.” If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, you already know this about me and you may know Izzy a little better too, but nonetheless, I thought it would be fun to share some of her best moments with you.
Quick update. My sweetie pie had hip surgery about 4 weeks ago so her little chicken leg is hanging out in some of these pictures. She is such a tough little cookie – we noticed a difference in her for about 4 days then she was back to her cute self. She still hops around, but her personality is shining like no other. Izzy is just 8 months old so a surgery like this a big deal, but they expect a full recovery and long and happy life. Can I get a woot!? woot!?
Ok on to the fun stuff!
Disclaimer: we are good puppy parents, I swear.
Izzy likes beer – like a lot. She however, doesn’t like wine? She also likes to hold onto things with her paws, especially when she really wants something, like this here beer, or when she’s scared. It’s.so.cute.
She’s a chewer. Granted she is a puppy, but I don’t think she will be growing out of this. For a 10 pound fur ball, she can do some damage. Don’t worry guys, she went after the golf magazines, not my Bon Appetit! 😉
When she was a puppy I brought her everywhere with me, hence the nap she took at the Honda dealership while I waited to get my oil changed. I carried her around like she was a human baby and no one ever said anything. I mean how could you? She’s too cute. Yes, I also was on Pinterest at the Honda dealership…
Izzy looooooves to nap. Pretty normal for a puppy and dogs in general. However, she likes to nap in the most uncomfortable places and in the most uncomfortable positions.
On top of the TV remotes. I mean how can this be comfortable?
When she could fit underneath the couch, she would nap there for hours. It’s gloomy and gross under there, but she loved it.
Goof ball. That actually looks kind of cozy.
She loves to cuddle and be held – all mom’s know, human or not, this is the best part of having a “baby.” My friend Beth made a comment on my Instagram that said “Dad?” I laughed out loud.
Disclaimer: Vin would like everyone to know that he did not purchase this Boozer t-shirt – it was a give away at a Bulls game. 😉
She let’s you hold her like this for as long as you want. We walk around the kitchen like this all the time when we’re waiting for the timer to go off for dinner. Too cute, I know.
She’s the sweetest in the morning. We no longer need to wake up to an alarm anymore, we are woken up with kisses and sharp claws pawing at our faces. “Heeeey yoooooouuu guuuuuuuuys (name that movie), get up!”
Please notice Izzy’s insanely long eyelashes – I know…you’re all jealous.
This is right after her surgery. Her little eyes are sad, but she’s hanging in her doggie bed that fits a dog 4 times the size of her. She loves it.
Her favorite toys are balls. Loves them and actually plays catch, literally throws the ball back with her mouth.
She also likes to purposely put them underneath the couch and wine until we get them for her. Not going to lie, this is annoying.
Aaarrrggggghhhh! Don’t worry, she lost those crazy piranha teeth and now has the perfect under-bite. 🙂
And she likes to eat her food off of the carpet? Can’t explain this one. Whatever works I guess?
This picture was taken after 4 mimosas at Easter, Izzy couldn’t keep her eyes open.
I know I know. I’m like the crazy
cat dog lady.
