Better Than Sex Cake

Better Than Sex Cake is a recipe I’ve been making for years. It’s a chocolate boxed cake recipe that’s jazzed up with a mixture of caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk that’s poured all over the cake making it extra moist and delicious!

I started making this cake in college for my friend’s Birthdays. It was easy, tasty and didn’t require a bunch of baking equipment (I wish I owned a Kitchen Aid Mixer in college!). If you’re looking for a quick and easy, but absolutely delicious dessert, this recipe is for you!

That my friends, is a mixture of sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce that is poured all over the chocolate cake. Poking holes all over the cake allows the sauce to seep into the cake so it gets in every nook and cranny. After it settles into the cake, fudge frosting is spread all over the top.
Do you see why it’s called Better Than Sex Cake?

It’s just one of those recipes that never fails because you can’t screw it up. Don’t underestimate the power of a boxed cake mix! They are so handy when you need to make an easy dessert. They hold up so well to added ingredients, taste darn good and are cheap.
Don’t get me wrong…I love homemade cakes, obviously, but I like to share some easier recipes on the blog too for those that are not interested in making a tiered cake from scratch. You could totally make this with a homemade chocolate cake recipe and buttercream recipe instead and it would be downright delicious, too!

- 1 box chocolate cake mix (any kind will do)
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1, 11.5 ounce jar caramel sauce
- 1, 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 container chocolate frosting
- sprinkles for decorating
- Make cake according to package directions. Let cool then poke holes all over cake with the back of a wooden spoon.
- Mix caramel sauce and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl. Pour all over cake.
- Frost cake and decorate. Let cake sit for a few hours before serving.
