Can you believe that Christmas is just 21 days away? It doesn’t feel like the holidays around here because the weather has actually been pretty warm. I am so used to blustery cold winters here in the Midwest and instead it’s 50 degrees out! Not complaining, not complaining.

It’s probably going to be -2349384903 in March…I will complain then.

Anyway, since Christmas will be here very soon, I thought I would share some main dish courses with you that I found around the web. What do you typically make? Do you make the same dish every year or do you like to switch it up?

My side of the family will switch it up a little but most of the time it’s prime rib and ham – left over prime rib sandwiches…ummm yeeeesssss. Vin’s family makes the same meal every year which consists of lobster, crab legs and shrimp at this Grandma’s and his parents make a pasta dinner….ummm yeeeesss!

To words – STRETCHY. PANTS.

  1. You are entirely right about prepping heavy sides a day in advance. Fifteen years in catering kitchens teaches you that baking potatoes on the day is a brutal mistake. Oven space is always a finite resource. We tried this back in 2018 and it was a nightmare until we fixed the reheating temperatures. Cold middles. Burnt edges. Now we just par-bake, chill, and finish low. The holiday rush crushes the unprepared. Solid advice here.

  2. These look great! I like to make something different every year for Christmas… thanks for the delish ideas Jessica! 🙂
