When it comes to Thanksgiving, my family and I have a handful of favorite side dishes that we look forward to every year – and it just makes sense to put them all in one spot for easy reference. These are the foolproof, crowd-pleasing recipes you can feel good about serving with your Thanksgiving turkey or holiday ham. They’re simple, reliable, and delicious enough to make year after year! Here we go!

Corn Casserole

My corn casserole is the most popular recipe on my blog. It’s a no brainer for holiday menus. It’s super simple to make, can be made ahead of time and is great for leftovers.

Scalloped Potatoes

These are my favorite. They’re indulgent and so delicious. The hardest part is slicing the potatoes thin, but a mandoline will make this effortless for you. They’re cooked in cream with herbs and havarti cheese. The potatoes are tender and the top is crispy. Ugh! Perfection.

Fruit Fluff (aka Fruit Salad)

This is also one of my most popular recipes on my website – I think the nostalgia of it makes people happy. It does for me! My mom grew up on a farm in Iowa and I’m originally from Iowa , so recipes like fruit fluff just bring be back to my roots. It’s also my kid’s favorite side dish and I’m totally okay with that, because it was mine, too. 🙂

Candied Sweet Potatoes

This recipe for candied sweet potatoes is a new one! My friend made this recipe for a Friends Giving one year and I loved it so much I had to put it on the blog. I honestly enjoy it more than sweet potato casserole, but that’s just my opinion. But the combination of sugar, fresh orange and honey is undeniable delicious with sweet potatoes!

Fresh Green Bean Casserole

Can’t have Thanksgiving without Green Bean Casserole! This recipe is semi-homemade. I use fresh green beans, mushrooms and onion instead of canned. I like the texture and flavor of it better than the processed version. I also feel a little better about enjoying it knowing that most of the ingredients are wholesome. It’s creamy, cheesy and delicious!

Homemade Cranberry Sauce with Orange & Cinnamon

When I made this, I about fell over – it’s SO good and easy. I’ll never buy canned cranberry sauce ever again. This recipe only takes 15 minutes and uses real ingredients. The best part? It lasts for 10 days in the refrigerator. I like to use it on buttered toast, over Greek yogurt and on Turkey Cranberry Sandwiches.

Thanksgiving Stuffing with Sausage and Apples

This Thanksgiving Stuffing is my mom’s recipe and it’s a family favorite of ours. It’s made year-after-year and it never gets old. It’s super simple to make and can be made ahead of time. It goes super well with any Thanksgiving meal and is super forgiving…you can’t screw this one up!
